Professor Seyyed BehrouzMousavi passed away on 23 June 2011 following asudden episode of cerebrovascular accident.Respected Dr. Mousavi was a Professor of Endodontics,and the Chairman of the Torabinejad Dental ResearchCenter at the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences,of which he was one of the main founders. He alsoheld the license to the fi rst English dental journal inIran, the Dental Research Journal (DRJ). He reignedas the dean of Isfahan Dental School from 1988 to1997. It was under his exemplary guidance, that theIsfahan School of Dentistry grew into one of the mostrespected sites for dental training in Iran.Professor Mousavi became the chairman of theIsfahan School of Dentistry Endodontic Departmentduring the period of 1985-1988, and held the positionof the president of the Iranian board of Endodonticsfrom 1988. He has been honored by numerousnational and international organizations for hiscontribution to Endodontic education and research.Another feather in his cap was being the head of theIsfahan Dental School Technical Committee on StemCell Research.Those of us who were fortunate to meet him cameaway greatly impressed with his genuine and humblenature. A man of his stature and importance andhaving his down to earth mannerisms, is indeed a rarecombination to see!Professor S. Behrouz Mousavi has trained, mentoredand befriended many Endodontists and researchersworldwide. He has added to the scope, knowledge andimage of research more than one can imagine, giftingus with invaluable contributions and novel methodsin his fi eld.
